GPS de Centroamérica uses the GPS (Global Positioning System) for tracking Speed, Location and Direction of any asset with the help of a 27 satellites constellation (24 plus 3 backup) which are circling Earth at a low orbit. Initially developed for military uses and later available for consumers and businesses.
Any one of this satellites is circling Earth at altitude of 19,300 Km (12,062 miles) completing two circles a day. Orbits are programmed so at each given moment at least 4 satellites are visible from any point over the Globe’s surface.
Based on data communication between satellites, their control and monitoring Earth Stations and GPS device reception, it can be computed GPS device position over Glove surface with an error of 3 meters (9 feet).
GPS de Centroamérica devices send their computed position, speed, direction, alarms and events to our data center using GSM/GPRS networks or another satellite telecommunications network. You access our data center servers through any Internet connected computer and get your vehicle location through a high definition map 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
